When flat screen TVs were first introduced to the market they used to cost a fortune. Eventually the prices started getting more reasonable, and today we are able to choose from an array of cheap flat screen tvs from different manufacturers.

When looking for a cheap flat screen tv you can either go for a plasma or an LCD display. The new LED technology is still expensive, so this is not what you should be after, at least not for now. Obviously, the bigger the diagonal size of the display, the higher the price. When looking for cheap flat screen tvs for our review, our goal was to find those that offer the most bang for buck. Here are our top three picks:

1. Samsung HP-T4254

This is a 42″ Widescreen Plasma HDTV with 3 HDMI Inputs,1024 x 768 resolution, 15000:1 contrast ratio, 16:9 Widescreen Aspect ratio, and NTSC/ATSC tuners. It is totally plug’n'play. This means there is no need to worry about setting channels, connections and the like. As with most Samsung products, the full list of features is very impressive and way too long to mention in full. The HP-T4254 comes with DNle picture enhancement circuitry(responsible for top-notch picture clarity), FilterBright anti-reflection technology, and SRS TruSurround XT audio. At the list price of $1,299.99 this Samsung model seems to be not that cheap, however, if you perform a thorough search, you will find that it is available for a rock-bottom price of $599.95 at RefurbDepot.com, and $900 at Amazon.com.

2. Sony Bravia L-Series KDL-32L4000

This tv has a 16:9 HD 720p Resolution 720p (1366x768p) LCD Panel,an image contrast ratio of 2000:1, 2 HDMI inputs, a PC Input for computers and an ATSC;/NTSC tuner with QAM. At 32″ it is smaller than the Samsung, but at the price of around $500(available from Amazon.com) it is definitely worth considering. The Bravia family has a very good reputation, so at this price tag this LCD TV is a true bargain.

3. Panasonic TCL32C12 Viera C12

For the third place of our cheap flat screen tv ranking we were trying to find a 32″ TV that’s below $500. This was a relatively tough task, as the majority of flat screen tvs of this size start at around $500. However, we did manage to find the Panasonic TCL32C12 Viera C12 available for $429.99 from two stores: CompUSA.com and CircuitCity.com. It has a 16:9 1366 x 768 resolution 720p display, a dynamic contrast ratio of 10000:1, and an SD memory card reader. This Panasonic model has the features and picture quality of its more expensive competitors which makes it a great deal.

Finding cheap flat screen tvs that offer good quality at low price is not so easy given the enormous choice on the tv market. Be sure to check out the models reviewed above, as they offer a lot more than their price suggests and have already been tested by hundreds of satisfied customers.
